Ildefonso to join Farm Fresh
PIA Ildefonso has decided to move up to the pros, as the 21-year-old second generation player will suit up for the new Premier Volleyball League club Farm Fresh.
Through their social media accounts, the Foxies yesterday introduced the 5-foot-9 spiker as they gird up for the Invitational Conference which begins on June 27.
Ildefonso played for Ateneo in the UAAP Season 84 women’s volleyball tournament last year and later represented the school in the sand court in the Season 85 beach volleyball tournament.
Citing personal reasons, Ildefonso has decided to sit out the indoor tournament earlier this year. The daughter of PBA legend Danny last played in the one-day Beach Volleyball Republic event in San Juan, Batangas last April.
For the former Blue Eagle, the next level of her career is the jumpstart she needs.
“I want to fall back in love with the sport and through the help of my lovely teammates na very talented, I hope to get there with hard work and passion. Sobrang daming kailangan matutunan lalo na from the veterans in the team and that excites me,” said Ildefonso.
Playing under the guidance of decorated coach Jerry Yee is what Ildefonso is looking forward for Farm Fresh.
She has recently started training with the core of reigning two-time NCAA champion College of Saint Benilde in the maiden season of the Foxies.
“I just wanted a fresh start and what better way to have that than join a team na nasa pangalan na ang fresh. Right now, I’m just someone who wants to learn more about the sport from one of the best coaches in the country,” Ildefonso said.
