Ice marks birthday with ultimate ‘Videoke Hits: OPM Edition’ party
This September, the iconic Music Museum in Greenhills will be transformed into a vibrant celebration of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) as Asia’s Acoustic Icon, Ice Seguerra, marks his 40th (+1) birthday with the much-anticipated third edition of “Videoke Hits.”
Set for September 13, the concert promises an unforgettable interactive experience that invites fans to be an integral part of the show.
For fans of Ice, “Videoke Hits: OPM Edition” is not just another concert. It’s a one-of-a-kind event that melds the energy of a live performance with the communal joy of videoke singing, a beloved Filipino pastime.
The concert will kick off at 8 p.m., with Ice performing iconic videoke classics and fan favorites. The highly interactive “By Request with Ice, Please!” segment will give attendees a rare chance to sing along with Ice, ensuring that the audience becomes a vital part of the performance.
Adding to the excitement, the “Jam with Ice” segment promises a night full of collaborations and surprises, as Ice invites special guests to join him on stage.
With the evening filled with non-stop hits and boundless energy, fans can expect a truly immersive experience. Moreover, Ice will showcase his unique take on popular karaoke classics in the “Ice-fied” segment, delivering fresh and exciting interpretations of beloved songs.
The innovative “Videoke Hits” concept was sparked by Fire and Ice CEO and Creative Director Liza Diño’s visionary idea, leading to a creative collaboration with Fire and Ice Live! team that has evolved into this extraordinary immersive live performance.
“This isn’t just any concert. It’s an interactive sing-along event where fans are part of the show. Ice will bring the karaoke vibe live on stage, giving you a chance to hear your favorite hits like never before,” said Liza.
The concert promises to be a nostalgic yet fresh take on Original Pilipino Music. It is going to be about celebrating the heart and soul of OPM, offering unique renditions of the most beloved karaoke hits that have defined generations and transcended genres.
Reflecting on his previous shows, Ice shared his excitement for the upcoming performance, “I felt bitin during my last ‘Videoke Hits’ dahil hindi ko nakanta ang mga paborito kong OPM songs.
Napakaraming OPM songs ang masarap kantahin sa videoke. I also want to do this for my fans. Instead of celebrating my birthday with just friends, this time around, I wanna enjoy my time with my fans kasi hindi ko ito normal na ginagawa. I don’t usually celebrate my birthday with other people, so ngayon, it’s one giant videoke birthday concert experience.”
Ice’s love for singing and videoke is evident in his favorite pastime: “We even have our portable videoke machine in the office, which I bring everywhere. Whenever I want to destress, I only need to look for a mic, go to YouTube for lyrics, and solved na! Pero ‘pag nagbi-videoke ako, I don’t want to sing my own songs kasi feeling ko, trabaho. So sa videoke ko nilalabas ‘yung mga paborito kong kanta na hindi ko makanta sa shows — from birit songs of Broadway to just about anything.”
