THE search for fugitive Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy and four others at the sprawling Kingdom of Jesus Christ compound in Davao City entered its 7th day on Friday with the Philippine National Police (PNP) maintaining it won’t stop the hunt until all nook and cranny of the nearly 30-hectare wide facility is inspected.

PNP spokesperson, Colonel Jean S. Fajardo said she was informed by Police Regional Office 11 director, Brigadier General Nicolas D. Torre III that as of Friday morning, they have only inspected close to 50 percent of the compound with more buildings yet to be search.

However, she said that officers are concentrating their search on areas where signs of human life, particularly heartbeats have been detected.

“Some of you might be wondering bakit napakatagal ng search but we are looking at an underground facility made of thick stones and thick metals, an underground facility built to withstand any man-made calamity or disaster. It’s really taking time to really penetrate the underground facility but we won’t mention any specific areas so as not to telegraph our punches,” Col. Fajardo said.

The official for the nth time called on Quiboloy, the self-proclaimed ‘Son of God’ to surrender and face the charges against him in court. By doing so, Quibioloy will spare his followers of the hard task of going everyday to the KOJC compound just to watch the polishe said.

The 74-year old Quiboloy, a close spiritual adviser of ex-president Rodrigo R. Duterte has been accused of child trafficking and abuse. Warrants for his arrest have been issued by separate courts from Davao City and Quezon City.

The televangelist has denied all the charges against him.

The United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigation has also placed Quiboloy on its most wanted list for conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking by force, fraud and coercion, sex trafficking of children and bulk cash smuggling.

However, officials said Quiboloy should first serve his sentence in the country once convicted before he could be ‘extradited’ to U.S.
