A 44-YEAR-OLD man engaged in the buy-and-sell of “bote-bakal” and other scrap materials literally caught the last ride to the cemetery after he was shot dead at home on All Saints’ Day in Llanera, Nueva Ecija on Monday.

Police head Major Romualdo S. Lopez identified the fatality as Alberto Francisco, a small junkshop owner, of Purok 4, Bgy. Inanama, Llanera.

Francisco was shot twice in the face and chest, killing him on the spot.

Lopez said the victim was sleeping with his two kids, aged 11 and 7, when two unidentified armed men barged inside their house and perpetrated the killing.

The riding-in-tandem suspects escaped on board a Kawasaki Bajaj motorcycle towards Rizal town.

The gun attack occurred at 2:30 a.m. Monday.

Police are still clueless on the motive behind the killing.
