CIVIL Service Commission (CSC) Chairperson Karlo Nograles urged human resource management practitioners to upgrade to digitalization to ensure a dynamic service within the entire workforce.

Describing state workers as the “nuts and bolts” that can make the government machinery, Nograles said it is very important for HR people to be proactive in pursuing dynamic (HR) systems and processes that can meet the requirements of a modern civil service.

“Civil servants are the nuts and bolts that make the government machinery work. The effectiveness of our bureaucracy largely depends on the quality of our human resources, and this is where all of you, as human resource management practitioners, have an integral role. We rely on your sound discretion in selecting individuals, and digitalization is a key component of this endeavor,” was his message during the November 12-13 21st Regional Conference of HRMP held in Baguio City.

The two-day program focused on cultivating dynamism in the civil service toward a bureaucracy with competent employees and leaders who can adapt to abrupt changes.

Another highlight of the conference was the ceremonial garbing of Chairperson Nograles to officially welcome him as an honorary Cordilleran. He was adorned with the Baya’ung, Pungot, and other traditional garments.
