NATIONAL Housing Authority (NHA) General Manager Joeben Tai praised President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s first year in office for prioritizing the housing needs of the marginalized Filipinos.

“I am overwhelmed by the love and care of our beloved PBBM for our countrymen. Through his passionate leadership and steadfast support to NHA, we were able to award a total of 30,000 housing units simultaneously nationwide. This event held on December 5, 2022 in Cavite was warmly received by various beneficiaries, to include informal settler families, calamity victims, former rebels, and indigenous peoples,” Tai said in a statement.

These communities that NHA built are thriving with life as the Chief Executive himself awarded the titles to 30,000 family-beneficiaries during the simultaneous ceremonial turnover.

Fellow officers from the key shelter agencies, secretaries, and local government officials also attended the event.

Among the directives of President Marcos Jr. to NHA include the acceleration of the completion of the Yolanda Permanent Housing Project (YPHP) and immediate implementation of resettlement sites for families displaced by calamities, address the increasing housing needs and fast-track the relocation of families living along danger zones.

Tai also thanked the generosity of the President in guiding the NHA’s priority programs and activities, given that the housing backlog is continuously increasing and the relocation activities are set to push through within the year.

With PBBM’s commitment to the housing sector, the NHA is assured that the continuance of sheltering and uplifting the lives of low-income families, calamity survivors, rebel returnees, and indigenous peoples will be realized.
