House prays for people to make right decision in May elections
THE House of Representatives, led by Speaker Lord Allan Velasco, has included the upcoming elections in its prayers to the Risen Lord.
In celebration of Easter Sunday, Speaker Velasco appealed to the people to pray for the success of the May 9 elections.
“The Lord is risen; let us rejoice and be glad.
“We join the nation and the rest of the world in celebrating the holiest of days on the Christian calendar: the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the gift of eternal life that is granted to all who believe in Him,” Velasco said.
“With only less than a month before the general elections, let us seek God’s guidance in order for us to make the right decision to vote for leaders who genuinely care for the country and will effectively lead us on the path to recovery,” he added.
The Speaker also wished and prayed that the will of God and the Filipino people will truly reflect the outcome of the forthcoming elections.
“May the miracle of Christ’s resurrection fill our hearts with love, hope and joy. Happy Easter to all,” he also said.
