House Deputy Speaker and Misamis Occidental 2nd district Rep. Henry Oaminal tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus disease-19.

Oaminal yesterday made the confirmation in a Facebook post.

“I regret to inform you that I have tested positive for Covid-19,” Oaminal, in his social media post, said.

He immediately informed the Ozamiz City Health Office of his condition as he called on people whom he got in close contact with since May 15 to go on a voluntary quarantine.

Oaminal said he was swabbed after experiencing malaise and fever.

The House leader urged the public to continue practicing the health protocols such as wearing of face mask and face shield and practice social distancing to avoid contracting the disease.

Oaminal’s son, Ozamiz City Mayor Sancho Oaminal, said his father’s house were placed on a 14-day lockdown as part of the Covid protocols.

The mayor is asking for prayers for the fast recovery of his father.
