HOUSE BONANZA FOR ‘GOLDEN BOY’
TWO-time Olympic Gold medalist Carlos Yulo, a gymnast, received a total of P14 million incentive from the House of Representatives.
Aside from the P6 million pledge as earlier announced, the House members contributed to give Yulo more cash incentives for giving the country pride and glory.
Yulo won two gold medal in the Summer Paris Olympics, the first for the Philippines since it joined the prestigious sports competition.
The 24-year-old gymnast bested other participants in the floor exercise and vault.
Yulo received a Congressional Medal of Excellence and a copy of House Resolution No. 241 congratulating the entire Philippine delegation for their historic feat in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez and his wife Tingog Party-list Rep. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez hand over to Yulo the citation and the cash incentives.
Meanwhile, Bronze medalist Nesty Petecio and Aira Villegas, both boxers, also received another P2.5 million each from the members of the House of Representatives.
In his speech, Yulo expressed gratitude to all Filipinos who supported them through prayers and hopes.
“Salamat po sa mga nagpuyat para mapanood kami. Ang panalo po namin ay panalo nating lahat,” Yulo said.
