Hired guns kill kagawad in Quezon
CAMP BRIG. GEN. VICENTE LIM, Calamba, Laguna – Assassins shot dead a village councilman in Tiaong, Quezon.
A report to Police Regional Office 4A director Brig. Gen. Carlito M. Gaces by Tiaong police chief Lt. Col. Marlon Cabataña identified the victim as Ricky Galangga, 44.
Galangga was a kagawad of Bgy. Cabay in Tiaong town.
One of the three suspects was arrested in a follow-up operation. His name was withheld as pursuit operations for the other suspects are ongoing.
Cabataña said one of the motorcycles used by the killers was recovered.
Galangga was near a waiting shed in front of a barangay hall in Sitio Ilaya when motorcycle-riding armed men arrived and one of them shot him repeatedly at close range.
The kagawad was rushed to the nearest hospital but died while undergoing treatment.
