TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite – The Department of Health (DOH) Center for Health Development-Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) recognizes all local leaders, health care workers, and other critical partners for the implementation of “Bayanihan Bakunahan” National Vaccination Day (NVD) against COVID-19 during the “Golden Jab Awards” with the theme: “Parangal sa mga Tagapagtaguyod ng Bayanihan Bakunahan sa Panahon ng Pandemya” held at Novotel, Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City on March 9, 2022.

DOH cited the province with the highest vaccination coverage, city and municipality with highest vaccination coverage; city and municipality who reached 70% target population; the province with highest coverage during NVD 1; province with highest coverage during NVD 2; province with highest jabs during NVD 1; city and municipality with highest jabs during NVD 1; province with highest jabs during NVD 2; city and municipality with highest jabs during NVD 2.

Also awarded the LGUs (local government unit) with “Best Practices on Demand Generation and Communications” strategy during the NVDs 1&2, Special Citation Award, “Agap Ulat Award NVD”, “Agap Ulat” Award AEFI, “Bilis Responde” Award AEFI, Reverse Logistics Collection Champion, and government agencies, NGOs (non-governmental organization)/organizations and other partners.

“Aking ipinapaabot ang mainit na pagbati at pasasalamat sa lahat ng awardees ng ‘Golden Jab Awards’ sa kanilang matagumpay na pagtaguyod sa kampanya ng ating pamahalaan na ‘Bayanihan Bakunahan’ na layong mapataas ang bilang ng mga taong dapat na mabakunahan kontra COVID-19,” DOH Regional Director Ariel I. Valencia said during his speech in the awarding ceremony includes both monetary and non-monetary awards to recognize the “Bayanihan Bakunahan” Campaign’s success results from a collective and immediate action among partners committed to implementing strategies that substantially sustain rapid, effective, high-quality COVID-19 vaccine roll-out to increase population immunity.

Cavite Province was awarded as the province with the highest vaccination coverage for year 2021 with 52% (2,221,182/4,305,597); while the cities with the highest vaccination coverage for year 2021 were awarded to Tagaytay City, Cavite 94% (78,630/83,320); Tanauan City, Batangas 79% (157,164/199,978); Lipa City, Batangas 70% (266,884/383,404); Santo Tomas City, Batangas 64% (132,705/207,450); and Cabuyao City, Laguna 63% (219,303/345,623).

Also awarded with municipalities with the highest vaccination coverage for year 2021 were: Mendez, Cavite 86% (31,6931/36,906); Carmona, Cavite 74% (84,253/114,194); Los Baños, Laguna 67% (84,786/185,385); Noveleta, Cavite 65% (34,771/53,663); and Rosario, Cavite 58% (75,427/129,583).

Cities who reached 70% Target Population for the year 2021 were awarded also to Tagaytay City, Cavite 94% (78,630/83,320) Tanauan City, Batangas 79% (157,164/199,978). While Municipalities who reached 70% Target Population C.Y. 2021 were awarded to Mendez, Cavite 86% (31,691/36,906) Carmona, Cavite 74% (84,253/114,194).

Quezon Province with the highest coverage during NVD 1 was awarded to 144% (168,928/117,450) while the province with the highest coverage during NVD 2 was awarded to Laguna Province 159% (293,572/185,166), while the province with the highest jabs during NVD 1 was awarded also to Laguna Province (272,405).

Cities with highest jabs during NVD 1, were awarded to Calamba City, Laguna (45,402); Santa Rosa City, Laguna (40,142); Antipolo City, Rizal (38,544); Bacoor City, Cavite (36,484); Dasmariñas City, Cavite (34,097); while municipalities with the highest jabs during NVD 1 were awarded to Rodriguez, Rizal (30,383); Tanza, Cavite (25,227); Taytay, Rizal (20,152); Naic, Cavite (18,755); and Silang, Cavite (18,414).

Cavite Province with the highest jabs during NVD 2 was awarded for the 307,525 jabs and the cities with the highest jabs during NVD 2 were awarded to Dasmariñas City, Cavite (54,360); Santa Rosa City, Laguna (48,155),; Antipolo City, Rizal (46,818); Cabuyao City, Laguna (43,272); and Bacoor City, Cavite (39,799).

Municipalities with the highest jabs during NVD 2 were awarded to Tanza, Cavite (35,943); Taytay, Rizal (30,288); Rodriguez, Rizal (23,948); Binangonan, Rizal (22,517); Candelaria, and Quezon (18,855).

The regional office also has given a Posthumous Award to Dr. Dianne Estioco-Gubaton, who recently passed away due to an illness. She was the National Immunization Program Coordinator who spearheaded the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the COVID-19 vaccination. His husband, Jim Gubaton, accepted the award.

Meanwhile, the LGUs awarded with “Best Practices on Demand Generation and Communications” strategy during the NVD 1 & 2 were the following cities: Dasmariñas City, Cavite; Sta. Rosa City, Laguna; San Pablo City, Laguna; Cabuyao City, Laguna; Tanauan City, Batangas; Antipolo City, Rizal; Tayabas City, and Quezon; and Batangas City, Batangas.

For the municipalities: Carmona, Cavite; Mabitac, Laguna; Calaca, Batangas; Atimonan, Quezon; San Antonio, Quezon; Lucban, Quezon; Alitagtag, Batangas, and Bauan, Batangas. For the special award (Most Innovative) – Imus City, Cavite and from the Island municipalities were Polillo and Panukulan, Quezon.

Special Citation Award – Healthy Pilipinas Awards were given to Binan City, and Cabuyao City, Laguna; Agap Ulat Award NVD was given to Batangas Province, Agap Ulat Award AEFI were given to Indang, Cavite, Rizal, Laguna, Rosario, Cavite, and San Pablo, Laguna, while Bilis Responde Award AEFI were given to Lipa City, Batangas and Reverse Logistics Collection Champion for Cavite Provincial Health Office Facility.

A total of 67 LGU Implementers were awarded from 44 LGUs including, Tagaytay City, Mendez, Carmona, Noveleta, Cavite, Rosario, Bacoor City, Dasmariñas City, Tanza, Naic, Silang and Indang, Cavite; Tanauan City, Lipa City, Santo Tomas City, Batangas City, Alitagtag, and Bauan, Batangas; Cabuyao City, Los Baños, Calamba City, Santa Rosa City, San Pablo City, Binan City, Cabuyao City, and Mabitac, Laguna; Antipolo City, Rodriguez, Taytay, and Binangonan, Rizal.

Candelaria, Tayabas City, Quezon; Calaca, Batangas; Atimonan, Quezon, San Antonio, Lucban, Polillo, and Panukulan,Quezon.

DOH also recognized 18 government agencies, NGOs/organization & other partners for their solidarity and cooperation during the NVDs or Bayanihan Bakunahan 1&2 and to facilitate the awarding of plaque to their respective offices/agencies, among which are: the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Department of Education (DepEd), DepEd-Tarlac Province, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Philippine National Police (PNP), Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Peace Action and Rescue with Dedication to Serve the Society F II–Cavite, Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Bgy. Bucandala, Imus City; Mabitac Children’s Association, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management–Mabitac, UNICEF-Relief International, The Alliance of Public Health Advocates (ALPHA), and Antipolo Buenviaje LIONS CLUB and 2,683 volunteers received a certificate of recognition for their selfless service as vaccinators and logistics support during the “Bayanihan Bakunahan”.

“Hindi naging biro ang pinagdaanang pagsubok ng bawat isa mula sa paghahanda hanggang sa mismong implementasyon ng kampanya. Gumugol tayo ng panahon, pawis, at pagod upang matiyak na maiaabot sa ating mga kababayan ang kinakailangang bakuna na siyang makapagbibigay-proteksyon laban sa COVID-19 at nang masimulan na matuldukan ang pandemiyang ito na nakaapekto ng malaki sa ating buhay,” Valencia added.

“Salamat sa mga tumulong at volunteers lalo na ang MSWDO Ma’am Jinky Sidocon , Noveleta MDRRMO, Noveleta BFP, Noveleta Police, Noveleta DepEd, and Mayor Dino Chua,” Noveleta Municipal Health Officer Dr. Ma. Hilda Bucu said after receiving the award.

Noveleta Rural Health Unit brought home the “Great Jab Award” for municipal level with the highest vaccination coverage for the year 2021 in the fight for the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tagaytay City represented by Dr. Lisa Capupus, City Health Officer, received the “Great Jab Award” (City Level) reached 70% target population for the calendar year 2022, Great Jab Award (City Level) with the highest vaccination coverage for the year 2021 and received P200,000 cheque for the 2 awards.

“Hard work pays-off for our great vaccination frontliners, itong award na ito ay para sa inyo,” Mayor Dino Chua said.
