Herlene returns to bring laughter and tears on GMA Afternoon Prime
After her successful debut series “Magandang Dilag,” Sparkle star Herlene Budol is back on GMA Afternoon Prime in the newest story about love and sweet revenge, “Binibining Marikit.”
Beginning February 10, she brings to life the role of Marikit, a funny but feisty member of an indigenous tribe, Dumagat Remontado, who serves as a tour guide of their family’s travel company.
Adding more depth to her story are award-winning actress and comedian Pokwang, Tony Labrusca and model-turned-leading man Kevin Dasom.
Joining them in the show are Almira Muhlach, Thea Tolentino, and Cris Villanueva. Completing the star-studded cast are Ashley Rivera, Jeff Moses, Migs Almendras and John Feir.
When wealthy and powerful people plan to take the land away from the Dumagat Remontados, Marikit must do everything to protect their heritage, community, and even her relationship with her father.
Aside from trying to save their legacy and culture, she also tries to fill the void that her mother caused by leaving them years ago.
Marikit finds comfort through a dating app, where she meets the man of her dreams. Everything feels straight out of a fantasy for Marikit and her Internet boyfriend. But her world turns upside down after getting caught in a love scam.
The series is directed by Jorron Lee Monroy.
