THE offices of Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, Tingog Party-list Reps. Yedda Marie K. Romualdez, Jude Acidre, and Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rex Gatchalian yesterday distributed P2,000 financial assistance to each of the 1,588 residents of Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

The event was held at Villa Remedios Covered Court in Brgy. Bubukal, Sta. Cruz, Laguna.

Local officials from the provincial and municipal governments including Mayor Egay San Luis, board member Milo San Luis, municipal councilors Allan Pamatpat, and Throphy Tolentino, barangay captain Allan Damitan, and barangay officials attended the event.

Members of the Philippine National Police secured the area and safety of the residents during the activity.

The assistance is aimed at providing P2,000 worth of subsidy to the residents of Sta. Cruz who needed support to access essential food items, particularly the indigent members of the community struggling from the economic crisis and the continued effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Before the distribution of financial assistance, a brief program was held to welcome the attending officials who expressed gratitude for the aid.

They welcomed and appreciated the offices of the House Speaker, Tingog Party-list and the national government for providing help.

“Maraming salamat po kay House Speaker Martin Romualdez sa pinaabot na food subsidy… at sa Tingog Party-list at DSWD, welcome at magandang umaga po,” barangay captain Damitan said.

“Maraming salamat po sa Alagang Tingog at sa kasama ko sa kongreso (nang anim na taon) na speaker na ngayon, Ferdinand Martin Romualdez. Dama namin na si Speaker Martin… ay nandiyan upang matulungan at maiangat ang antas ng mga kabuhayan… lalo na sa pagtapos nitong pandemya. Muli, maraming salamat kay Speaker Martin Romualdez, Congresswoman Yedda Marie Romualdez, kay Congressman Jude Acidre, sa DSWD, pati na rin kay sir Rioneil Moquianos na head ng services team,”Mayor San Luis said.
