Helper murdered inside Malabon market

A 28-YEAR-OLD helper was shot dead inside a public market Saturday before dawn in Malabon City.
Gary Grape, stay-in helper at the 119 Lina II Street, Brgy. San Agustin died on the spot from a gunshot wound in the back. The suspect, Michael Delos Santos, 29, laborer, and resident of Taganahan St. Bagumbayan South, Navotas City is now the subject of police manhunt.

Malabon police homicide investigators P/SSgt. Ernie Baroy and P/Col. Renz Marlon Baniqued said the victim was walking inside Malabon Central Market located along F. Sevilla Street at around 2 a.m. when the suspect appeared from behind and shot him in the back.

The victim’s coworker Jonathan Obina, 25, identified Delos Santos as the suspect.

Malabon police chief P/Col. Albert Barot immediately ordered operatives of the Follow-Up Unit and Intelligence Section to conduct a manhunt operation against Delos Santos. The motive behind the killing is still being determined.
