IF a man’s wealth could be measured by his happiness, successful career, number of friends and family blessings, then Fil-am New Yorkers Roger Solis and Robert ‘Bobby’ Mendoza would be considered members of royalty. Kings.

Both men have life paths that have made them a cut above the rest.

Roger is a beloved son of Asingan, Pangasinan. He always has a kind word or two for people who share his company and he treats everybody with genuine respect.

Apparently, his teaching skills polished the gentleman in him.

This Metrobank executive was not just a wiz in balancing sheets. Amid a demanding career, he managed to maintain a happy, driven family and be a pal to all.

Roger is a simple king with simple pleasures. Nowadays, he spends his precious time fishing, gardening and bowling. He also enjoys fish and veggie meals.

Roger has a unique, secret skill. He is a dog whisperer. “When he talks to the fur babies, they magically respond,” shares his lovely wife, Judith.

Like his name which connotes strength and means famous warrior Roger brings honor to his kids, wife Judith, kin and friends.

And he has always been a well-respected figure in his circles.

Despite his serious stance, Roger is also a joker. During gatherings, he manages to crack a joke or two to the delight of friends.

Meanwhile, Bobby, as he is dearly called, graduated with a degree in Accounting in 1977. His career spans glorious years spent with the former Trans World Airlines, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Manufacturer’s Hanover which became JP Morgan and now Chase Manhattan.

Bobby is always the life of the party. He makes gatherings more fun and enjoyable with his witty puns.

People, specially first-time acquaintances, never fail to be impressed with his close ties with actor Edu Manzano, his HS batchmate in La Salle. Like kindred souls, the two share the same magnetic aura. Both are natural comedians.

Robert is an old German name that means “bright fame” and is bestowed upon many a king. Bobby lives up to this acclaim. Hands down.

Like Roger, he also holds the crown for serving as an inspiration for genuine success and for bringing smiles wherever they are.

On their respective birthdays, dedicated fam and friends wish them continued love, health, happiness and wealth not only for themselves for the people dearest to their heart.
