Guns, ammo seized from lolo, 76, in Rodriguez
CAMP MGEN LICERIO I. GERONIMO, Taytay, Rizal — An elderly man was arrested after police seized illegal guns and ammunition from him following the serving of a search warrant on 30 A Bonifacio St, Bgy. Rosario, Rodriguez, Rizal on Friday at 3:20 p. m.
A report by Rizal Police Provincial Office (RPPO) director P/col Dominic L. Baccay to PRO-CALABARZON (Cavite/Laguna/Batangas/Rizal/Quezon) Acting Regional Director P/Brig. Gen. Jose Melecio C. Nartatez, Jr. said the arrested suspect is 76 years old and a resident of Rodriguez.
Rodriguez Municipal Police Station (MPS) chief P/Lt. Col. Rosell DM Encarnacion, who led the operation, said recovered from the suspect were four improvised shotguns, improvised cal. 22 rifles, an improvised cal. 5.56 (M16) rifle, three cal. .38 guns, ten ammo for caliber 5.56 (M16); three bullets for a cal. .38; and a magazine for a cal. 5.56 (M16).
The seized firearms and ammunition were brought to the Rizal Provincial Forensic Unit (RPFU) for proper documentation and disposition.
The suspect is being held at the Rodriguez custodial facility and facing a case for violating the Firearms Law or R.A. 10591.
