Grenade blast rocks Ecija town
CUYAPO, Nueva Ecija – An alleged grenade explosion rocked this town on Friday night.
Police said they were alerted by a phone call that unidentified men hurled a grenade at the house of Norlando Domingo Sr., 71, farmer, of Bgy. Cacapasan at 9:00 p.m. here.
Town police head Lt. Col. Erwin Ferry said Domingo was resting inside the house when he heard somebody allegedly throwing a stone on the roof.
However, a few seconds later, an explosion erupted atop the roof of his garage.
Ferry said no one was hurt during the explosion which was allegedly triggered by a pillbox.
He said they are still investigating the motives behind the incident.
