A NEOPHYTE solon urged the three branches of government to work together to provide job security, food security, and quality healthcare for the Filipino people.
AGRI Party-list Rep. Wilbert T. Lee made the appeal during the 48th National Prayer Breakfast wherein representatives of the Executive, Judiciary, and Legislative branches of government joined religious leaders.
Speaking on behalf of the House of Representatives, Lee said he was “deeply grateful and honored for this opportunity to come together in God’s name and presence, and offer prayers for our nation.”
“I believe in the popular saying, ‘prayers can move mountains’… alam natin na with God, nothing is impossible, nothing is impossible when we pray,” Lee said.
The lawmaker said it was a blessing for government and religious leaders to be united in prayer as he stressed that “mahalaga pong sama-sama tayong nagdadasal para sa ating bayan, sa buong mundo, lalo na sa panahong ito.”
“May we continue to pray for each other, show love and compassion and work hand-in-hand in pursuing our shared initiatives—job security, food security, quality health care, a peaceful, prosperous and just society for all, a society where we are all winners and no one is left behind,” he added.
