Gov’t heads, top traders topbill 29th MMBC to be held via Zoom

SEVERAL government heads and top traders will share their business and economic expertise at the 29th Metro Manila Business Conference (MMBC) which will be held via Zoom on Sept. 9 and 10, 2021, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Bannering this year’s theme, “Innovation for Sustainable Entrepreneurship,” the 29th MMBC aims to tackle how entrepreneurs can hurdle challenges under the new normsl business climate and remain to be an essential part of Philippine society.

Interested participants have been urged to register at https://mmbc2021.com. Organizing the 29th MMBC is the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI). It will be hosted by the PCCI-NCR (South Sector).

Opening ceremonies on Sept. 9 will be led with a message by Delia B. Jimenez, PCCI Vice President for NCR Chair, 29th MMBC; followed by welcome remarks from Edgardo G. Lacson, Acting President, PCCI; opening statement by Amb. Benedicto V. Yujuico, President, PCCI and overview of the 29th MMBC by Teresita L. Ngan Tian RG, NCR South Sector Conference Director, 29th MMBC.

Plenary Session I will be about “ S.M.A.R.T. TECHNOLOGY.” Speakers and their respective topics are Dep’t. of Science and Technology Sec. Fortunato T. de la Pena (DOST AI Programs and Technologies in 2021); Jaypee Soliman, Vice President, Head of SME Segment Customer Experience Group, Union Bank ( Integration of AI in Financial and Banking Practices); Melvin Jeffrey Chan, VP & Head – Enterprise Innovations & IoT Business Development, PLDT Enterprise (Next Gen. Technologies in Connectivity);Dep’t. of Information and Communications Technology Sec. Gregorio B. Honasan II (The DICT E-Government Master Plan 2022).

Plenary Session II will delve on “ S.M.A.R.T. GOVERNANCE.” Speakers and their respective topics will be Trade Sec. Ramon M. Lopez (Digitalized Collaboration Models for Delivering Government Services); Albay (2nd District) Rep. Jose Ma. Clemente S. Salceda, (Smart Governance for Smart Government); and Tourism Sec. Bernadette Romulo Puyat (S.M.A.R.T. Tourism)

On September 10, Plenary Session III will focus on “GREEN METRO-CITIES.” Speakers and their respective topics are Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chair Benhur C. Abalos, Jr. (Green Strategies in Metro Manila for Business Resiliency, Economic Growth and Stability) and Alliance Global Group Megaworld Properties CEO Kevin L. Tan (Building Competitive and Livable Cities);

Plenary Session IV will center on “BEING FUTURE-READY.” Speakers and their respective topics are Presidential Adviser for Entrepreneurship (Future Proofing Your Business) Jose Maria A. Concepcion; and Hello Sister & Co. and Side by Side founder Charlotte Wilkins (Learnings on Resilience and Change from the Singapore Restaurant Scene during the COVID 19 Pandemic).

Closing ceremonies will be led by Alegria Sibal Limjoco, PCCI Chair and Director for Membership and Special Projects as well as Finance Sec. Carlos “Sonny” Garcia Dominguez III.
