Governor, other La Union execs rally behind BBM-Sara

LA Union Governor Emmanuel “Pacoy” Ortega lll and several local executives in the province expressed their full backing to Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s vice presidential candidacy.

Ortega lll likewise vowed all out support to presidential camdidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr and the entire UniTeam.

Thankful to the support, Mayor Sara is confident that she will be getting the support of the so-called Solid North.

Ortega, a member of the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), declared his support for the UniTeam candidates during the latter’s courtesy call on him at the provincial capitol in San Fernando City.

“I am endorsing the candidacy of Mayor Sara for vice president. I believe in her capacity, siya ay mayor ng Davao City for a long time. Naipakita niya ang kanyang skills and capacity as an administrator, and I believe she can expand her horizon hindi lang sa Davao kundi sa buong bansa,” he said.

In her short speech Mayor Sara expressed gratitude and vowed to continue the good programs of the Duterte administration in order to help Filipinos uplift their lives.

“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa mga kaibigan natin sa Ilocos Sur at sa Ilocos Norte sa kanilang maninit na pagtanggap sa akin dito. Nagpapasalamat din po ako sa ating mga kaibigan, sina Apo Bongbong Marcos at Apo Chavit Singson, sa kanilang pagho-host sa ating pagbisita sa kanilang mga probinsya,” Mayor Sara said.

Meanwhile, local officials of La Union, led by Rep. Sandra Eriguel, likewise vowed to support to Mayor Sara and the UniTeam.

Mayor Sara made a stop at the province as part of her Mahalin Natin ang Pilipinas Ride.

“Dito po sa La Union, lalung-lalo na sa 2nd district, kahit hindi nyo kasama si BBM ngayon, naka-100 percent support kami sa inyo,” Eriguel said.

Eriguel, who met with Duterte in Barangay Sta. Barbara here, introduced the mayor to the crowd as a local chief executive they look up to.

“Isang karangalan na ipakilala ang nag-iisang idol nating lahat. Siya po ang mayor ng Davao City na tinitingala sa leadership,” she said.

“Kusang pumuta po sila dito para ibigay ang todong suporta nila sa inyo,” Eriguel said of the crowd that waited for Duterte’s arrival.

Earlier this morning, Mayor Sara met with Governor Emmanuel “Pacoy” Ortega, who also expressed support for the Uniteam tandem.

Sara was in Ilocos Sur yesterday as she continued with her Mahalin Natin ang Pilipinas Ride.

She and running mate Marcos held a caravan in the towns of Sinait, Cabugao, San Juan, Magsingal, Sto. Domingo, San Ildelfonso, Bantay, Vigan, Santa and Narvacan.
