Get the corrupt out

EVERYBODY believes that President Marcos and his administration are out to wipe out graft and corruption not only in national government offices but also in local government units (LGUs).

Without doubt, wrongdoing in the government service should never be ignored even by the ordinary citizens, who continue to suffer because of the existence of corrupt public servants.

Thus, the Marcos administration is on the right track in closely monitoring the implementarion of programs and projects aimed at uplifting the living conditions of the people, notably the poor.

With so many people still in the grip of grinding poverty as a result of the two-year COVID-19 pandemic, the government ought to hit hard at erring local government and barangay officials.

In the eyes of the suffering Filipino people, particularly the unfortunate members of society, these wayward public servants don’t deserve to remain in the government service.

These local government and barangay officials should be identified, suspended and dismissed from the service if found guilty after a thorough investigation.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government and the Civil Service Commission ought to come up with a plan of action aimed at ridding the bureaucracy of erring personnel.
