GenTri logs COVID case amid intensified vax drive
GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite – Coronavirus disease here continued to drop to a single case as of May 1, 2022, due to the ongoing vaccination campaign against COVID-19.
The city has had 19,590 cases since March 2020 and has 19,346 healed, with two latest recovered with 243 fatalities for the 33 local villages.
According to Dr. Jonathan Lusesco of the City Health Office, the lone Covid case is in Bgy. Tejero, an asymptomatic and now under home quarantine.
It will be recalled that the Covid case swelled in the area where the Omicron variant hit, reaching 779 active cases on January 15, 2022.
The local government vaccination drive continues in Robinson’s Place GenTri cinema hallway area and, Vista Mall in San Francisco, Divine Grace Medical Center auditorium in Bgy. Tejero for the pediatric population and “Resbakuna sa Barangay”.
Around 261,080 individuals are injected with 1st dose, 258,008 individuals receive 2nd dose, and 57,765 persons with booster shots.
Around 226,460 of them are in the adult category – 29,108 (12-17 years old) and 15,289 from ages 5 to 11.
