MABALACAT CITY – Mayor Crisostomo Garbo underscored the need for the Mabalacat City government employees to “abide” by the rules governing the conduct of workers in and out of the workplace.

During the flag-raising activity this week, Garbo discussed honoring financial loans, avoiding illicit relationships, and drug abuse between the city government employees.

“One of our objectives is for us all to observe rules towards moral and spiritual uprightness,” said Garbo.

“It has come to my attention that certain employees have been missing out on their obligation to pay their dues to a home appliance store. Please do not do that. Please live only within your means.

Mag-ipon para handa tayo para sa year 2023,” the mayor added.

“Lahat po ay kailangan sumunod sa alituntunin para sa kawani ng pamahalaan. Kayo man ay under job orders, casual or permanent employees. Meron pong batas para sa mga empleyado ng pamahalaan na nag-uutos na tayo ay manatiling morally upright,” he noted.

The Republic Act 6713 or the “Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees”, calls for government employees to conduct themselves with proper decorum (etiquette), enumerating prohibited acts and transactions, and provides penalties for violations.

Garbo also warned employees that failure to appear on their scheduled drug test could lead to termination of employment.

“Kayo po ay tatanggalin from the rolls kung hindi po kayo sisipot sa naka-schedule ninyong drug test,” he stressed.

A born-again Christian, Garbo reminded workers to find time to attend church at least once a week no matter what religion or denomination employees belong to.

The Mabalacat City Government, Garbo stressed, should be “driven” by moral code and ethics as a reflection of the city’s standard in serving all Mabalaquenians in this city.
