Fruit dealer, daughter, 6, survive ‘ambush’ in Calauan

A 34-YEAR-OLD fruit dealer and his eldest daughter were seriously wounded Wednesday night after being shot by an alleged barangay councilor inside their shanty in Bgy.Palipaparan, Calauan,Laguna.

Calauan police chief P/Major Davy Hebron said identified the victims as Arnold Bustarga, his daughter Ayesa Denise, 6, both of Bgy. Paliparan , Calauan, Laguna.

Police said Bustarga sustained gunshot wounds in the body while his daughter sustained gunshot wounds in her abdomen from a .45 caliber pistol.

Bustarga is confined at the San Pablo City Medical Center in San Pablo City while his daughter is undergoing treatment at the Sta Hospital.

Initial investigation conducted by the Calauan police said the victims were shot while they were sleeping inside their shanty at about 10 p.m.

Relatives alleged the victim identified the suspect before losing consciousness.

The alleged suspect was still at large as of yesterday.
