Four teams vying in ERJHS alumni cagefest
EVERYTHING is set for the staging of the E. Rodriguez Jr. High School Alumni Sports Club “Battle of the Generations” basketball championship on Feb. 8-23 at the Barangay N.S. Amoranto covered court in Malaya cor. Angelo St., Quezon City.
Four teams — Team 80s, Team 90s-A, Team 90s-B and Team 2000s — will see action in the annual competition organized by the ERJHS Alumni Sports Club in cooperation with the ERJHS Alumni Association, headed by president Ramon Ferreros, and Barangay N.S.Amoranto, led by Chairman Ato de Guzman.
Former PBA player and ERJHS Alumni Sports Hall of Fame awardee Leo Avenido and Quezon City Councilor TJ Calalay have been invited to attend the opening ceremony on Feb. 8.
ERJHS Alumni Sports Club Basketball Committee chairman Albert Andaya said the participating teams will play a single-round elimination, with the top two teams battling for the championship.
The basketball championship is one of the highlights of the 73rd ERJHS Foundation Day and Grand Alumni Homecoming scheduled Feb. 22-23 atthe ERJHS school grounds along Mayon Ave..

Team 80s –Vic De Guzman, Ato De Guzman, Mike Nadonga, Joseph Realista, Ronald Carrillo, Albert Andaya, Memeth Coronado, Adonis Geoilin, Jojo Navera, Mike Gomez, Voltaire Penaga, Alvin Tanare, Jonn Cano, Benjamin Baet, Erwin Tempeko, Jojo Silva.
Team 90s-A — Joseph Magpantay, Brando Lim, Jeri Santos, Lucas Ortega, Dave Oracion, Rudolf Ramirez, Ronald Baterina, Zaldy Lim, Michael de Castro, Cornelio del Rosario, Joey Cura, Daniel Blysma, Richard Nell, Longie Punzal, Chris Mallari, Robert Marquez.
