Valeriano de Leon, director of Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), said these efforts of PRO3 as staunch member of the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (RTF-ELCAC) and RTF ELCAC’s persistent campaign on anti-terrorism resulted in the voluntary surrender of a former rebel in Nueva Ecija last May 27.

The surrender of one Ka Reymond came after the personnel of Nampicuan PNP and Alpha Company 84th IB 7ID, Phil. Army facilitated the documentation for the voluntary surrender of Reymond, former member of CPP-NPA and squad medical officer under the command of Ka Arcadio Peralta, and turned in one caliber .38 revolver without serial number loaded with two live ammunitions.

De Leon said the PNP will help the surrenderer to get government assistance such as remuneration for a surrendered firearm, immediate cash assistance and livelihood opportunities.

“Those who wish to join the mainstream society are very much welcome. We are here to assist them in their reintegration,” de Leon added.
