Five QC rob suspects yield shabu, firearms

OPERATIVES of Holy Spirit Police Station (PS 14) arrested five robbery suspects in a follow-up operation which resulted in the confiscation of shabu, firearms, and ammunition in Bgy. Pasong Tamo, Quezon City.

PLTCol.Jeffrey Bilaro, PS 14 commander, identified the arrested suspects as Lourence Laurel, 29; Gueller Canlas, 25; Rey Terga, 35; Myla Ecal, 23;all residents of Bgy. Pasong Tamo, Quezon City; and Richard Sillar, 30, resident of 41, Purok 4A, Brgy. Culiat, Quezon City.

A report shows that the victim reported that she was robbed at about 5 a.m. on July 19, 202,1 on Andrew St., Metro Heights Subd., Bgy. Culiat

In a follow-up operation, Laurel was identified through a CCTV footage obtained from a nearby establishment.

This resulted in the arrest of the suspects at about 11:30 p.m. on July 20, 2021, on 17 Lukban St., Area 9, Bgy. Pasong Tamo.

The report further showed that Laurel had a previous case for robbery while Canlas, Sillar, and Ecal had previous cases for illegal drugs.

Confiscated from the suspects were five sachets of shabu valued at P34,000, two caliber .38 pistols, two caliber .45 replicas, three caliber .38 live ammunition, a Rusi motorcycle with plate number NE53316, six assorted watches, a pair of sunglasses, a pair of Converse shoes, two motorcycle helmets, and a cellular phone.

The suspects will be charged with violation of RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Additional charges for violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition will be filed against Laurel, Canlas, Terga, and Sillar.
