Fish vendor shot dead by mc-riding men in Ecija
TALAVERA, Nueva Ecija — A fish vendor was shot dead while his companion escaped unhurt in a gun attack staged by unidentified riding-in-tandem men here on Tuesday.
Killed was June Malvar, of Bgy. Paco Roman Street, Rizal, Nueva Ecija while his cousin Alfredo Graneta was unscathed.
Police officer-in-charge Lt. Col. Jackyll Bilibli said the shooting incident occurred in Purok 1, Bgy. Sibul at 6:20 a.m.
The duo were riding a black Honda TMX 125 motorcycle to sell fish when upon reaching the said area, the two suspects on board a gray motorcycle suddenly showed up and fired at them.
Bilibli said Malvar was hit several times causing his instantaneous death.
Meanwhile, the suspects fled southbound towards Bgy. Bantug Hacienda.
Bilibli said they are still investigating the motive behind the shooting.
