
Filipino runners get ready for 30th anniversary of the Run Rome the Marathon



ARE you ready to conquer Rome?
If you ask Filipino runners based in Italy and other countries in Europe, they are ready — and excited — for the Run Rome The Marathon 30 scheduled on Sunday, March 16, 2025.
In fact, the Filipinos are also thrilled to celebrate the Rome Marathon’s recent recognition with the prestigious “Best Events Award” (BEA), an honor akin to winning an Oscar in the events industry.
Being named the Best Sporting Event of 2024 by the BEA last March 17, 2024 is a testament to the unparalleled significance and excellence of the said event. With over 40,000 participants-marathon runners, relay teams, and even fun run walker, Run Rome The Marathon stands as the most attended sporting event in Italy, breaking records as the fastest men’s and women’s marathon on Italian soil.
Last Sunday, January 11, another Run Rome the Marathon Get Ready was set with more than hundreds runners — including Filipinos, of course — ran with the guidance of the highly-selected official pacers of the Run Rome the Marathon.
The “Get Ready” training sessions are free and open to all those who wish to participate in any planned distance: Rome Marathon 42.195km, a very entertaining 5Km Fun Run and Relay “Run4Rome”, the relay marathon for team of fou runners.
Other training dates for Run Rome The Marathon 30 are:
Jan 25 – 25Km, Stadio Olympico.
Feb 15 – 30Km, Stadio Olympico
March 8,2025, 14Km – Roma Eur San Pietro e San Paolo.
Based on Run Rome The Marathon 30 organziers, participation is only open to athletes aged 20 years and over (including those who will turn 20 during 2025).
The requirements for participation vary according to nationality, residence and membership of an Athletics Federation.
What is the average temperature on the day of the race?
The average temperature in Rome at the end of March is about 13, with about 9 degrees at the start.
What are the features of the route?
It is a flat route with about 20 metres of elevation and about 6 km of cobblestones (the route may be subject to some small variations.
What points do the route pass through?
The most famous and beautiful places in Rome: Fori Imperiali and Colosseo are the starting points, Arco di Costantino, Circo Massimo, Porta San Paolo, Piramide Cestia, Basilica di San Paolo, San Pietro, Foro Italico, Piazza Augusto Imperatore, Ara Pacis, Piazza del Popolo, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Navona, Campidoglio steps, Teatro Marcello, Bocca della Verita.

• race number;
• insurance against civil liability;
• technical and medical assistance;
• race pack containing sponsor’s products;
• official technical jersey;
• backpack (to use for bag deposit service)
• refreshments and sponging along the route;
• official program and informational materials;
• timing service;
• finisher’s medal (for finisher athletes);
• personal clothes deposit (bag deposit);
