DUE to continuous efforts of the government, with the administration of the Department of Health (DOH) to protect our countrymen, many had already been vaccinated with doses against COVID-19.

In line with this, Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor (PCUP) Chairperson and CEO, Undersecretary Alvin S. Feliciano urged the public, especially the urban poor sector to undergo mass vaccination.

President Rodrigo Duterte has ordered that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines from the United States be given to the indigent population as part of the protocol of the COVAX to distribute the said vaccine brand to the most vulnerable sectors like the health workers, elderly, and disabled persons.

One of the more obvious reasons is also the rising number of reported cases of COVID-19 in the country, especially on the counts of new cases of the more dangerous COVID-19 variant which is the Delta Variant.

Usec. Feliciano, in behalf of PCUP, vowed support to the government campaign of a COVID-free Philippines by the near future.

“In these times when vaccines from other parts of the world were brought to our country, it is due time for us to be protected that is why I am urging our public, especially our urban poor sector to undergo mass vaccination. With your support to the fight against COVID-19 virus by making yourself vaccinated, we can see a COVID-19 free country as soon as possible”, he added.
