FAKE RAPE
THE Regional Trial Court Branch 121 of Caloocan City has provisionally dismissed the rape case filed against Pandi, Bulacan Mayor Enrico Roque and two of his associates.
The decision was reached after thorough examination and investigation, ultimately proving that the allegations against the mayor were devoid of any substantial basis and lacked credibility.
In a decision released by Judge Rowena Violago Alejandria of RTC Branch 121 on February 25, 2025, it was disclosed that the individual who made the accusations identified as Mikaela Buico Mariano was using a fictitious name.
The address provided in her complaint was likewise found to be fabricated, raising significant doubts about the authenticity of her claims.
Further scrutinizing the case, the court found that the medico-legal documents submitted by Mariano were fraudulent.
The crucial evidence, which would ordinarily serve as a key component in substantiating such serious allegations, was determined to be invalid.
Additionally, the police blotter that Mariano claimed to have filed was also missing from the official records of the Women and Children Protection Desk of the Caloocan City Police Station, casting even more doubt on her credibility.
Following the ruling, Roque’s legal team expressed relief and satisfaction, emphasizing that the case was fundamentally an attempt to malign the mayor’s character and public image.
They characterized the allegations as a direct attack not only on Roque’s political career but also on his personal integrity, labeling the case as an unfounded scheme that aimed to tarnish his reputation unjustly.
Roque’s camp further articulated the emotional toll this episode had on the mayor, describing it as more than just a legal challenge.
They highlighted the distress and humiliation he experienced as a result of these unfounded claims, stating that it constituted a significant violation of his rights as a human being.
They argued that such baseless accusations could have severe repercussions on a public figure’s life and career.
