‘Fake’ PDEA asset, 2 cohorts nabbed in Tarlac drug sting
TARLAC CITY, Tarlac – Three individuals, including a man pretending to be a PDEA (Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency) asset on Friday, were arrested in a buy-bust in Barangay Mapalacsiao this city.
Police said one of the suspects introduced himself as a “PDEA asset” and asked for money and drugs from other drug pushers in the area.
Seized from the suspects were four plastic sachets of shabu worth P102,000, assorted drug paraphernalia, a .38 pistol, and the buy-bust money.
The operation was jointly conducted by operatives led by PDEA Tarlac Provincial Office and the local police.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 will be filed against the suspects.
