A former employee of Pasig City Hall along with his girlfriend were nabbed and seized from them were more than P200,000 worth of illegal drugs following an operation conducted by the Eastern Police District-District Drug Enforcement Unit (EPD-DDEU) inside a motel in Pasig City the other night.

PMajor Darwin Guerrero, DDEU chief, identified the suspects as Nico Delos Santos, 30, formerly assigned at the Pasig City’s Traffic Parking and Management Office (TPMO), and his girlfriend one Lyca Lozada, 26, both residents of Villa Monique, Bgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.

The two suspects were nabbed after teams of DDEU conducted a buy-bust operation at Room 6, iHome Hotel, Ilugin Phase 1, Bgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City at around 7:30 p.m.

The operation was based on the information received that the two were using the said motel at selling point of illegal drugs.

Prior to the operation, a policeman posed as buyer and was able to buy drugs from the suspects, whose modus operandi is to book a motel room for their customers, then the illegal drugs will be taken inside the room.

“Ang modus nila i-book nila ng kwarto sa motel ‘yung kanilang customer habang nasa kabilang kwarto naman silang dalawa, tapos ‘dun kukunin ng customer sa loob ng kwarto na naka-assign sa kanila yung droga,” Guerrero told Journal Group.

A policeman checked in at the adjacent room of the suspects to get the P35,000 worth of illegal drugs.

When the cops already obtained the illegal drugs, they immediately raided the Room 6 of the motel where the suspects were waiting and monitoring the drug transaction.

Recovered from the suspects were four pieces of heat-sealed plastic transparent sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 35.4 grams, with estimated street value of P240,720

According to Guerrero, suspect Delos Santos was jailed last 2018 for the crime of robbery/extortion while assigned as member of TPMO.

The two suspects were using the said motel for their illegal drug transactions and after the deal they check out and book again if they have another drug deal.

They were allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade for some time.

The two are now detained at the Pasig Police detention facility and facing drug charges.
