Ex-Dolores vice mayor killed in San Pablo City ambush
A FORMER Dolores, Quezon vice mayor was killed when his driven luxury car was peppered with bullets by unidentified armed suspects on Friday afternoon in Seven Street, Barangay Francisco, San Pablo City, Laguna.
San Pablo City Police Chief P/Lt. Col. Joewie Lucas said the former Quezon town vice mayor, Nanilo Amat, was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital due to several gunshot wounds on the back of his body from an unknown caliber.
Initial reports said the ambush transpired around 6:30 in the evening within Bgy. San Francisco Calihan while the victim was driving his red Ford Mustang.
An initial investigation by the San Pablo Police revealed that a suspect, armed with an unknown caliber, shot the victim several times and fled on foot right after the shooting.
The victim was brought by concerned citizens to San Pablo City General Hospital (SPCDH) but was declared dead on arrival by Dra. Rowena Rovillos.
Scene of Crime Operatives (SOCO) team has processed the crime scene and conducted an autopsy of the remains of the former vice mayor.
San Pablo Police are conducting a hot pursuit operation for possible identification and subsequent arrest of the suspects.
