Ex-cop security officer killed in Calamba ambush
A SECURITY officer and former Philippine National Police (PNP) member was killed when an armed suspect shot him from behind while on board his motorcycle Thursday evening along Service Road, Doctoras Compound Silangan Street in Barangay Mayapa, Calamba City, Laguna.
Calamba City Police Chief Police Lt. Col. Milany Martirez said the victim was a security officer of an agency for security guard services.
According to probers, the victim was on board a Yamaha after he went from Batino Service Road, traveling along the road heading towards the Mayapa Paciano Rizal Bridge overpass, when he was shot at around 7:45 p.m. (December 15).
He sustained several gunshot wounds on his body that resulted in instantaneous death from an unknown caliber pistol used by the suspect.
The still unidentified gunman escaped in an unknown direction after the shooting.
