NEW National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Brigadier General Jonnel C. Estomo on Saturday lauded the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) for scoring another major shabu haul in line with their stepped-up war on drugs.

According to Estomo, members of the QCPD Novaliches Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by Lt. Rommel Baylon “deserves all the commendation” they can get for arresting a “high-value drug target” in Metro Manila.

The official said that the QCPD operatives arrested the suspect during a buy-bust operation at Carlos Street in Montville Place Subdivision in Barangay San Bartolome in Novaliches, Q.C., at 2:00 a.m. Friday.

Recovered from the suspect’s possession were some 1.5 kilos of shabu valued at P10,200,000 and the buy-bust money topped by several marked bills.

The suspect now faces non-bailable charges for selling and possessing prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Brig. Gen. Estomo lauded the effort of all NCRPO units to fight criminality, drugs, terror, and corruption in the metropolis and ensure it will be a “safe place for metropolitan residents 24/7”.
