THE Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) launched an enhanced version of its website, along with a data archive and digital library on August 3.

The purpose of the event was to showcase the new features of the platforms, which are aimed at improving data sharing and dissemination of services to clients and stakeholders.

According to National Statistician and Civil Registrar General of the PSA Claire Dennis Mapa, the upgraded psa.gov.ph website is now mobile-friendly and offers more features to facilitate data searches. The data archive and digital library have also been designed to make information searches easier and more accessible.

The website is described as a comprehensive platform that provides access to a wealth of statistical data, publications, and resources covering various aspects of the Philippine economy and social indicators such as poverty, health, and population.

The data sets, including past and current surveys and research collected by PSA researchers, are available for viewing and downloading by students, academicians, journalists, politicians, and the general public.

PSA Deputy National Statistician Minerva Eloisa Esquivias mentioned that the platform includes metadata that explains the microdata, as well as data visualization features.

Esquivias said that the platform aims to empower individuals and institutions and drive the progress of the nation through the proper use of official statistics.
