Engineer, survey aide drown in Angat river

TWO employees of a construction firm conducting river channel survey drowned in Angat River in Baliwag City, Bulacan.

In a report to Police Regional Office 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., the Bulacan police identified the victims as survey aide Dave Mangahas, 24, of Balolong Malaki, San Ildefonso, Bulacan; and engineer Roxan Limus, 38, of San Miguel, Burgos, Pangasinan.

Police were told by the victims’ colleague Dennis Manuel, 52, also an engineer and a resident of Bgy. Talacsan, San Rafael, Bulacan, that they were a team from CM Pancho Construction Company supposedly conducting a river channel survey in Angat River in the part of Bgy. Makinabang.

Mangahas was crossing the river when he suddenly slipped and fell into the water.

Limus tried to rescue him but he too submerged into the water.

Their other companions failed to rescue the drowning victims and sought help from the Baliwag police.

Members of the Baliwag City Public Assistance Command Center (PACC) were deployed in the area and are still conducting search and retrieval operation to locate the bodies of the two victims.
