ENDERUN Colleges pulled off a hard-earned 63-60 win over defending champion St. Clare College of Caloocan in the NAASCU Season 22 basketball tournament at the University of Makati gym.

Hans Delos Reyes,Jalen Garcia and DJ Howe provided the clutch baskets in the closing minutes as the Pipo Noundou-mentored Titans handed the Saints their first loss in eight games.

De los Reyes tallied 18 points, three rebounds and three assists for the Titans, who finished the elimination round with 7-2 win-loss record.

Garcia added 16 points while Howe contiebuted 15 markers, seven dimes and three boards for Enderun, Ryan Sual paced the Caloocan City-based Saints with 17 points on 6-of-15 shooting in 23 minutes of play for coach Jino Manansala.

Babacar Ndong and Megan Galang added 13 points each. Ndong also had seven rebounds, three steals, two assists and two blocks.

Overshadowed by Enderun’s upset victory was AMA Universities and Colleges notched its second straight win, beating hard-fighting City University of Pasay, 85-77.

The Quezon City-based Kings rode on the veteran trio of Earl Ceniza, JC Yambao and Reed Baclig, who combined for 69 points, to strengthen their campaign with a 3-5 win-loss record.

Ceniza exploded with 29 points on 11-of-20 shooting from the floor, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals in 40 minutes of action for the Kings of multi-titled coach Mark Herrera
Yambao added 24 points, including six triples while Baclig contributed16 points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals for AMA.

John Luigi De Leon led the losing effort of the Pasay City-based Green Eagles with 27 points on 8-of-11 shooting, five rebounds and five assists in almost 33 minutes of play for coach Benedict Martin.

CUP dropped to 3-6.

Hanz Yu added 15 points and seven rebounds while Danilo Ruiz contributed 13 markers and five dimes in the Green Eagles’ setback.

In the third game for the day, host University of Makati leaned on John Nelo Santos to roll back Holy Angel University, 97-74.

Santos scattered a game-high 27 points on 11-of-16 shooting and eight rebounds in 24 minutes of action for the Hardy Herons of coach GP Valencia.

Enzo Montecastro and Nonon Lastra added 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Lastra also had six assists and five rebounds.

Ramonchito Rodriguez finished with 18 points and four assists in 24 minutes of action.

Marc Basillo was the top man for the Angeles City-based Golden Guardians finishing with 14 points in the losing effort.
