ENDERUN Colleges and Our Lady of Fatima University pulled off similar easy victories over their respective rivals in the National Athletic Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (NAASCU) Season 22 basketball tournament at the Enderun gymnasium.

The Titans showed too much class to bring down Manuel Luis Quezon University, 97-81, while the Phoenix played hard enough to roll back City University of Pasay, 68-51 last Friday.

Five players scored in double figures for the Pipo Noundou-mentored Titans.

Leading the Titans’ charge was Paul Malano, who came through with 14 points, two rebounds and two assists in 14 minutes of play.

The Titans also got 11 points from Jalen Garcia and 10 points each from Mustapha Salaudeen, Sean Manese and Joey Panganiban.

Salaudeen also had seven rebounds, Manese had five rebounds and Panganiban added seven rebounds and six assists.

Steven Garbriel Diño’s 38-point explosion was not enough to lead the Stallions of coach Joshua Nicolas.

Diño went 14-of-29 shooting from the field on top of seven rebounds and three assists in 40 minutes of play.

Asi Paul Placido added 17 points, five rebounds and three assists while Sean Julian had 10 points and five rebounds in the losing effort.

In the other game, the Phoenix went back on win column after a 55-61 setback against the New Era University at the Tala Glorrieta Complex in Caloocan City.

Andrei Romero led the balanced scoring attack for the Ralph Rivera-mentored Phoenix with 14 points, three rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes of action.

Fatima improved to 6-1 win-loss record.

Charles Tecson added 13 points and five rebounds while Mamadou Toure tallied 11 markers and nine boards.

Danzel Gomez chipped in 11 points, three assists and two rebounds.

Only Jose Quebec and Jomar Yugto managed to score double-digit for the Benedict Martin-mentored Green Eagles, who dropped to 3-4.

Quebec finished with 13 points and three rebounds while Yugto contributed with 12 points, three rebounds and three steals.
