Eleazar: Proble tabloid exec’s killing in QC
PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) chief, General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar has ordered a thorough investigation into last Tuesday’s killing of a business executive of a tabloid newspaper in Quezon City.
The top cop said he has instructed the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) headed by Brigadier Gen. Antonio C. Yarra to leave no stones unturned in establishing the identities and motives of the killers.
“I have tasked the Quezon City Police District to thoroughly investigate this incident. Lahat ng anggulo ay ating titingnan upang malaman ang tunay na motibo sa krimen at madakip ang salarin,” Gen. Eleazar said.
An initial investigation showed that victim Gwenn Salamida was shot dead by a gunman who barged into her beauty salon in Quezon City. Her companion was also shot and remains in critical condition.
The QCPD said it was initially eyeing robbery as the motive behind the crime.
Gen. Eleazar expressed sympathy to the grieving family of the victim.
“Nakikiramay tayo sa pamilya ng biktima at sisiguraduhin natin na mabibigyan ng katarungan ang kanyang pagkamatay,” he said.
