PHILIPPINE National Police chief General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar took the first dose of a Sinovac shot in a ceremonial vaccination at Camp Crame.

Joined by PNP Deputy Chief for Operations, Lieutenant Gen. Israel Ephraim T. Dickson and PNP Directorial Staff chief Lt. Gen. Dionardo B. Carlos, Eleazar took the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine under the A4 category at the PNP national headquarters.

The top cop received his first shot of COVID-19 vaccine as the police organization started the inoculation of its personnel under the A4 priority group.

Members of the PNP Command Group and the PNP Directorial Staff and heads of different National Operational and Administrative Support Units also got their first doses to convince all policemen of the safety of the vaccines and inspire them to get vaccinated.

Eleazar said after getting the first jab.

According to the PNP chief, the vaccine confidence rate among PNP personnel is already at 92.76 percent. He expressed belief that the vaccination of police officers would also encourage civilians to get inoculated against COVID-19.

The PNP this week was allotted a total of 500 doses of COVID-19 vaccine. More doses will be supplied to the police force as more vaccines are expected to arrive in the country in the coming months.

Eleazar said.

He also urged his men not to choose the vaccine brand that will be administered on them.

The best vaccines are the ones that are already available to us. Let us all contribute to attaining herd immunity for everyone’s safety,” the PNP chief said.
