Educating the youth
EDUCATING the country’s out-of-school youngsters remains one of the priorities of the national government.
Everybody agrees that education plays a crucial role in the socio-economic development of a nation.
We, thus, doff our hat to the Department of Education (DepEd) for purchasing additional modules and tablets.
To be procured are 87 million learning modules and 74,000 tablets to be used by learners across the country.
They will be used by over 300,00 high school students who are unable to go to school for various reasons.
Education Secretary Juan Edgardo Angara said DepEd also offers its Alternative Learning System (ALS) under the Flexible Learning Option (FLO) fund.
DepEd deserves the support of the public as it strengthens its highly-successful alternative education program.
“Mabuti naman at nandiyan ang programang ito para makapag-aral ang mga out-of-school youth,” said a village official.
What is needed is for our parents to encourage their out-of-school children to study under the ALS.
