MULTI-talented and debonair are the perfect narrative for Eduard Bañez. A former Net 25 newscaster, MTV Asia host, Star Magic Talent and regarded as Philippine socialite.

He was only 17, a nursing student from New Era University when he joined Star Magic Batch 15 (2006). His contemporaries who became famous were Jessy Mendiola, Bela Padilla and Miss World 2013 Megan Young.

He hosted MTV Asia, mentored singers whose songs became Billboard hits, modeled for Louis Vuitton and Vogue Philippines, and eventually became a voice coach and member of the Professional Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP).

He also co-anchored a tele-radio show on Radyo Singko 92.3 News FM with Arnell Ignacio. Then he left the Philippines to go to the US, and stayed in California for five years. And a window of bigger opportunities opened for him there. One, he studied Political Arts and Media History at the University of California, Los Angeles, California (UCLA).

Right now, he is working in Six Flags, a California-based theme park featuring hundreds of roller coasters, thrill rides and family attractions. This one is one of the biggest regional theme park companies in the world!

Eduard has been privileged to work with big stars like Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Cassie Ventura and the Australian singer Sia (“Chandelier” and “Cheap Thrills”).

“Working with these big hitmakers taught me a lot. And Hollywood is far different from the entertainment scene in Manila,” he says.
Edward as a producer plans to bring Sia to Manila once the pandemic is over.

Right now, he is also busy with an upcoming sitcom for children’s cable network, Nickelodeon. Like those roller coasters at Six Flags, Eduard is enjoying the ride. “Life is a beautiful ride. Keep looking up, that’s the secret of life. Because life is like a roller coaster, live it, be happy, enjoy life, despite the pandemic.”
