TO “empower” the students with disabilities from Area I Vocational Rehabilitation Center (AVRC I), Dagupan, Pangasinan, and through inclusive education, they embarked on an “educational field trip” held at the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) office.

The educational field trip aims to inform the participants better about the existing programs and series of the NCDA that empower persons with disabilities (PWDs).

The AVRC I provides vocational training for PWDs to be active in participating and contributing to society. They are being prepared for employment suitable to their abilities and talents.

The educational field trip brought insights to the students with disabilities who were able to access the facilities offered at the Disability Resource and Development Center (DRDC).

The DRDC is a model hub for capacity-building services, resource augmentation, research, and the organization of persons with disabilities to achieve their full participation.

The building showcases the following facilities: a multi-purpose hall, e-library, broadcasting room, accessible rooms, and the Office of the Executive Director.

The students were also briefed on the NCDA’s mandate, accomplishments, and ongoing programs, projects, and policies to strengthen and empower persons with disabilities.
