CABIAO, Nueva Ecija — Police arrested during an entrapment operation a woman who was allegedly pawning a fake land title to an online seller here in exchange for P50,000.

Police head Major Joey B. Cabatin identified the arrested suspect as Grazelle Ann Dayao, 34, single, of Bgy. San Antonio, this town.

Her supposed victim identified as Emmuelyn Sanguyo, 31, online seller, of Bgy. San Vicente, sought the help of the police, which immediately set up the entrapment operation that led to the suspect’s arrest in Bgy. Vicente at 7 p.m.

Cabatin said the suspect was caught while receiving payment from the victim worth P49,000. Seized from her were 98 pieces of boodle money worth P48,000 and a genuine P1,000.

Case prober, MSgt. Crisolo Caguiat said the suspect pretended and introduced herself as Mrs. Caroline C. Manalastas in pawning a fake title to the victim in the name of Ernesto C. Manalastas with Transfer Certificate of Title No. 38650.

Caguait said the suspect was pawning the title for P50,000 but she had earlier already duped another victim using the same title for P1-million in October.

“Sinasangla nya ng 50K nung mahuli siya, pero ibinenta nya na sa ibang biktima nung October ng P1M,” Caguiat told this reporter in his text message on Monday.

“Dalawang magkamukha na titulo ang ginagamit niya, magkamag-anak yung victims kaya nahuli siya,” he added.

Charges for estafa or violation of Article 315 of the Revised Penal Code were filed against the suspect before the provincial prosecutor’s office. — STE
