SAN ANTONIO, Nueva Ecija – The municipal government is eyeing to put up in this first-class town the first-ever memorial park that will cater to the indigent sector of the society, it was learned.

Under the proposed plan, Mayor Arvin C. Salonga said only bona fide residents of the town and those duly-certified by the Department of Social Welfare and Development office as indigents will be accommodated to have a free spot in the said memorial park.

“Magkakaroon sa design nito ng mga dalawang palapag na apartment-type na mga nitso at sa bandang gitna ng sementeryo naman ay doon pupuwesto ang mga lawn lots para sa underground na libingan na kamukha sa mga memorial parks,” said Salonga.

He said he is eyeing to develop a piece of land situated in barangays San Francisco and Lawang Kupang for its proposed construction.

Meanwhile, Salonga also bared that he plans to tie-up with the National Housing Authority for the proposed construction of a low-cost housing project in a two-hectare lot here by next year.

Also included in next year’s plan is the construction of a 25-bed capacity municipal hospital worth P20 million to boost the town’s medical and emergency response for his constituents.

Salonga, who is vying for his third and final term as mayor in next year’s polls, said these proposed projects when completed will serve as among his legacy to the people of San Antonio.
