Ecija PNP’s SWAT unit nabs 6 “goat-nappers”

SAN JOSE CITY — Members of the Special Weapons and Tactics unit of the city police nabbed five men and a minor for allegedly stealing two goats on Friday night here.

Two of the arrested suspects identified as Ricky Zamora, 41, and Rozhen Ignacio, 38, both construction workers, also yielded two plastic sachets containing shabu worth P2,000, said city police head Lt. Col. Palmyra D. Guardaya.

The three other arrested suspects are Marvin Jimenez, 34, Rosendo Vencing, 21, Gener Santos, 18, all of Esteban Block, Zone 11, Bgy. Abar 1st, this city.

The suspects were nabbed two hours after Roger Collado, 46, farmer, and Bartolome Agagni, 57, lineman, both of Zone 7, Bgy. Malasin sought police help regarding their missing goats worth P13,000.

Recovered from the suspects were the stolen goats and their get-away vehicle, a stainless owner-type jeep (DHL-793) and two plastic sachets with shabu weighing 0.1 grams.

Theft charges and violation of Republic Act 9165 were filed against the arrested suspects.
