CABANATUAN CITY – Nueva Ecija Rep. Mikaela Angela “Mika” Suansing on Friday filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) before the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in this city to formalize her reelection bid in the 2025 national and local polls.

Suansing is seeking her second term for a congressional seat in the province’s first district under the banner of Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats party led by its president, House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez.

During the CoC filing, she was accompanied by her mother, former three-term Congresswoman Estrelita “Ging” Suansing, provincial Board member Dr. Napoleon Interior Jr. and the latter’s father, former Bokal Napoleon Interior Sr..

In seeking reelection, the younger Suansing took pride in her achievements as a neophyte solon, describing her first term at the House of Representatives as a “very big break” to showcase the talent of a “true blue Novo Ecijano” from the province’s first district.

The Nueva Ecija solon, also a daughter of Rep. Horacio “Toto” Suansing Jr. of the second district of Sultan Kudarat, is a holder of Master’s Degree in Public Policy at the Harvard University, and previously worked as chief of staff of her mother in Congress before entering politics.
