GUIMBA, Nueva Ecija – Gas refilling stations reduced the pump prices of their fuel products by at least P3 to P4 per liter, it was reported on Monday.

A fuel price monitoring conducted on the 11 gas refilling stations operating in the town showed that pump prices went down for gasoline and diesel fuel.

This development came a week after the Sangguniang Bayan held a regular session on August 9 with all local petroleum industry players operating in the town in attendance.

Gas stations of small oil players such as KYM, KKK Turbo, GT Oil, Total, LRB, Age, PHIL-UP, and SEAOIL pegged their premium gas at P54.50 per liter, unleaded gas at P53.50, and diesel at P38.80 per liter as of August 16.

PTT’s pump prices remained at P58.89 for premium, P59.00 for unleaded, and P42.25 for diesel, as of August 16.

On August 9, the Sangguniang Bayan summoned all owners and representatives of gas refilling stations of petroleum industry players here to explain their exorbitant prices compared to their counterparts in adjacent areas.

The SB led by Vice Mayor Jesulito E. Galapon conducted the hearing in collaboration with Mayor Jose R. Dizon amid complaints from farmers, residents, and the transport sector that they are being shortchanged when it comes to fair and actual pricing of petroleum products is concerned.
